Kinda Embarrassing!

So today I had to go to the doctor to get some blood work done.(Just more infertility stuff.) I've had my blood drawn quite a few times in my life, and as long as I don't watch them do it, I'm fine. I do have a really weak stomach.(Just a side note, when I was younger, I would watch the show "Rescue 911" and anytime they showed alot of blood I would almost pass out.)Like I said, if I don't watch, than I'm fine.

The girl who was taking my blood looked like she was 12, and I told her I have really crappy veins, but she said that they looked fine. So she sticks one arm. No biggie. Then she starts moving the needle around. After several minutes of killing my arm, she said,"Shoot! I lost that one. Gonna have to do the other arm." I start to feel a little woozy. But I kept thinking that I was going to be ok, and that I wasn't going to pass out in front of my daughter. She pokes my other arm, and starts talking to Kassi. Asking her her name, age, stuff like that. All the while moving the needle around like she drunk. I was like, ok, focus on me, quit talking to my daughter. Obviously you can't multi-task.(I didn't say that out loud. I wanted to though!)

After what seemed like forever, she calls out to another nurse asking her if she can "save" whatever she was that she was doing. It was over for me then. I started to sweat, and felt like I was going to pass out. But, what made things even worse is that I felt like I was going to puke. So I said, "No, I am getting really sick." She said,"Do you want me to take the needle out?" I thought, no genius. I want you to keep digging around in my arm. Obviously you don't know what you are doing, and I am about to puke. Instead I said,"No, take it out. I feel like I am going to throw up." Nurse:"Well the bathroom is over there." First of all, I am about to pass out. Second of all, I am going to puke NOW! I saw a garbage can next to me and grabbed it. My stomach was empty, so luckily nothing came up. But the sound affects were lovely. I'm sure all the pregnant women sitting in there were absolutely loving me.

After dry heaving for several minutes, I finally got the strength to lie down on their little bed. Poor Kassi was totally traumatized. I don't know if she will ever go back to the doctor again. But she was so sweet. She kept saying things like,"Don't worry mommy. You will feel all better soon. I will help you mommy. You are a big girl for getting a shot."(That's what I told her was happening.) Anyway, she is so incredibly sweet and loving. So in the end, a different nurse came in and took my blood in like 10 seconds. Lessons I learned from this experience. Don't get your blood drawn on an empty stomach, and make sure you have someone experienced taking the blood.

Father's Day!

<
What can I say? I married the best man in the whole world! I can sit here and talk about the great husband he is, but since it is Father's Day, I am going to talk about the amazing father that he is.
Brad and Kassi have been close from day one. When she was born, he didn't want to leave her side for a second. He was the only one who changed her diapers the first couple days. And I could see that he was already wrapped around her finger.

As Kassi has grown, Brad has always helped when she would cry in the middle of the night. He always wanted to know everything that she did while he was at work, and when he got home, he just wanted to be with her.

No matter how tired he is, he ALWAYS takes time to spend with Kassi. I am so lucky to have married someone who is a hands on dad. He would do anything for our family. Kassi is so lucky to have the best dad in the world!

I also want to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day. Some of my fondest memories as a little girl were of my dad making up songs and stories to entertain us kids. He was always so clever! He has now passed that tradition on to his grandkids. He loved telling them stories, and they love to hear them. He is such a great man, and I am very lucky to have him as my dad!

Little Miss Drama Queen!

So I said I am going to try to remember to write things down that Kassi does that I want to remember. I am not doing a very good job. Something happens, I make a mental note to write it down, and then I forget.
Anyway, I was over at my parent's house, and was reminded of something Kassi did, and my mom encouraged me to put it on here so I would remember. So here I am. It is 11:30pm, I should be asleep, and instead I am blogging. Oh, and just an FYI, when I am really tired I tend to go off on tangents, so I'll try to stay on the subject.

For Mother's Day, my little sister Laura got some kids together to sing in her single's ward. They sang the song, "Mother, I love you." Kassi has been singing that song ever since. Well, a couple weeks ago, Kassi was being naughty so I put her in time out. As she was standing in the corner of our kitchen,(I had left the room) I started to hear,"Mother I love you. Mother I do." (and keep in mind this is a half crying, half singing voice.) I started laughing quietly to myself in the other room. When I didn't respond to her, I once again heard,"Mother I love you. MOTHER I DO!" She kept singing that over and over and over again. Getting louder each time. After a couple minutes of laughing so hard, I had to regain my composure so when I walked back in the kitchen she knew I meant business. She was still in time out after all for being naughty, and just cause she was making me laugh I wasn't going to excuse what she had done. As I walk into the kitchen she turned around, and began singing again. "Mother I love you. Mother I do-oo. Father in Heaven(pointing up to the sky)has sent me to you-oo.(pointing very dramatically at me.) That was it. I totally lost it. It amazes me how dramatic she can be. Oh, and when Brad puts her in time out, she changed the words to "Daddy I love you." I think she is taking after her mom in the drama department.
